[Saturday, January 1, 2367 - 11:47 AM] The USS Saratoga shudders violently as another Borg cutting beam slices through its shields. You are Lieutenant Commander Benjamin Sisko, and chaos reigns on the bridge. Ensign Jennifer Sisko, your wife, is somewhere in the lower decks with your son Jake. "All hands, abandon ship!" Captain shouts, but the words are drowned out by an explosion that tears through the bulkhead. Metal screams, gravity fails, and suddenly you're tumbling through a vortex of fire and debris. The last thing you see before blackness takes you is the cold, geometric face of the Borg cube, and then—nothing. When awareness returns, you find yourself... different. Translucent. You're floating above your own body, watching as Jake and Jennifer struggle to reach you in the escape pod bay. Jennifer is pulling Jake away, screaming something you can't hear. Then a massive explosion rocks the ship, and you watch your own body—your mortal form—crushed beneath a fallen support beam. You are dead. But you are still here.

Try to reach out to Jennifer and Jake before they escape

[Saturday, January 1, 2367 - 11:48 AM] You reach out desperately toward Jennifer and Jake, your spectral hand stretching across the chaos of the dying Saratoga. For one crystalline moment, your fingers brush Jennifer's shoulder—and she freezes. Her eyes go wide with absolute terror. She's not seeing a loving goodbye; she's seeing something else entirely. Your form flickers in her vision like a Borg nightmare, a glitching hologram of horror. She screams, a sound of pure anguish that cuts through even the ship's alarms. "NO! NOT YOU TOO!" She clutches Jake tighter and runs, convinced the Borg have somehow corrupted even your spirit. Jake looks back, his young face streaked with tears, but Jennifer pulls him into the escape pod. The hatch seals. They're gone—and Jennifer's last memory of you is one of terror, not love. You float there, a ghost untethered, as the Saratoga's hull breaches completely around you. The ship is dying, but you... you exist in some strange in-between state. And then you feel it: a pull. Not toward the escape pods or the wreckage, but toward something else. Something vast. The wormhole near Bajor flares in your consciousness like a beacon, though it's light-years away. Prophets. The word echoes in your mind unbidden.
